General Motors released in 2012 Chevrolet Sport Cars Camaro SS Honor and Valor Edition for the armed forces of the United States, to show their appreciation for the American troops. In recognition of Chevrolet’s 100th birthday, only 99 units of the “Honor & Valor” Limited Edition Camaro SS will be built and are only available to eligible members* of the military (the first unit will be auctioned with net proceeds going to Cell Phones for Soldiers). Orders are now being accepted and will be prioritized on a first-come, first-served basis.

This model is basically a collection of 2012 Camaro SS, which comes with special accents such as a painted body kit, white side stripes, premium floor mats, XM Satellite Radio, black leather seats, a so-called special “honor” badge, a grille insert and surround similar and in addition to the rumbling, American-as-it-can-get 6.2-liter V-8 with a choice of manual or automatic transmission. (We say get the manual, as it hooks to the 426-hp LS3 in place of automatic models’ 400-horse L99.) The 2012 Chevrolet Sport Cars Camaro SS Honor and Valor Edition will officially debut at Indy 500 military personnel parade on May 28.

2012 Chevrolet Sport Cars Camaro SS Honor and Valor Edition will only be available in red, white, and –er, black. Production is limited to 99 examples, and much like Harley-Davidson’s police and firefighter edition models, cars will only be made available to buyers actively serving in the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, or Coast Guard. Chevrolet Sport Cars is celebrating National Military Appreciation Month by expanding its GM Military Discount to military spouses and retirees; offering an exclusive “Honor” badge to anyone who buys an eligible Chevrolet through the program. For each eligible vehicle sold, GM will donate $100 to Cell Phones for Soldiers.

GeigerCars 2010 Camaro SS Compressor

Using their car tuning expertise, GeigerCars has tuned the all new 2010 Camaro SS Compressor to complete the trio of legendary muslce cars. The have already customized the Dodge Challenger and Ford Mustang, so why not modify the new aggressive looking Chevy Camaro SS. Tuning the base model Camaro SS, GeigerCars German engineering chose to increase the performance numbers of the 6.2-liter V8 that boasts 432 horsepower. One of GeigerCars specialties is their high performance supercharger kit, so they installed just that for the 2010 Camaro SS Compressor. By using the mechanical compressor, engine output was increased to 568 hp and 799 ft-lbs of torque with the supercharging kit installed, and also a high flow exhaust system that includes new catalysts and mufflers.

To handle the extra power numbers, a twin-plate performance clutch was fitted for the 6-speed manual transmission. GeigerCars reduced the end gear ratio on the 2010 Camaro, which allows it to reach 195 mph. Aiming to keep the car under control at these high speeds, a strong braking system was installed along with coilovers, and an adjustable sports anti-roll bar for the front and rear axles. The high performance braking system consists of 6-piston calipers with slotted 380 mm brake discs in the front, and 4-piston calipers with 355 mm brake discs in the rear. Topping it all off from GeigersCars are 20-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 295 mm tires in the rear, and 265 mm tires up front.

Chevrolet unveiled a high-performance vehicle most sports car enthusiasts would go crazy for. GM presented the most powerful Camaro ever build. Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 makes its official debut at the 2011 Chicago Auto Show. The ZL1 brings the Camaro line to greater heights with higher performance charged by V-8 engine generating approximately 550 horsepower.

The 2012 Chevrolet Sports Cars Camaro ZL1 Edition is powered by LSA 6.2L supercharged engine with maximum output of 550 horsepower (410 kW) and 550 lb.-ft. of torque (677 Nm). Engine is combined with six-speed manual transmission with a dual-disc clutch system. Not only that, this fast baby is equipped with highly improved chassis and suspension systems for maximum sports car performance.

The central goal of the 2012 Chevrolet Sports Cars Camaro ZL1 Edition’s development was creating something new –a Camaro intended to reach optimal lap times on top road-racing circuits and excellent driving dynamics on the street. To achieve that goal, engineers evolved many of the existing Camaro’s systems, as well as incorporated new technologies such as electric power steering and Magnetic Ride Control, the world’s fastest-reacting suspension system.

The 2012 Chevrolet Sports Cars Camaro ZL1 Edition name is derived from the all-aluminum racing engine of the same name, which was developed in the late 1960s and installed into a handful of regular-production 1969 Camaros. Only 69 were built with the engine, but they’ve achieved mythical status among enthusiasts, as they represented the pinnacle in Camaro performance – until now. The 2012 ZL1 model is designed to be a major leap forward for the Camaro Chevrolet Sports Cars, bringing anew level of performance capability to the segment.

2012 Chevrolet Sports Cars Camaro ZL1 Edition is equipped with a revolutionary new suspension system includes Magnetic Ride Control and electric power steering. The braking system is Brembo with dimensions of 14.6in. (370 mm.) front and 14.4 inches (365 mm.) rear.

All of the Camaro exterior colors will be offered with the ZL1, but black is the only interior color. The unique exterior features are complemented with a black center section on the hood. Inside, the 2012 Chevrolet Sports Cars Camaro ZL1 Edition has heated leather seats with microfiber inserts and ZL1 logos embroidered on the front headrests. Microfiber suede is repeated as an accent on the instrument panel, adding a richer look to the interior.

Interior – 2012 Chevrolet Sports Cars Camaro ZL1 Edition is tailored for high-performance driving. The front seats feature microfiber suede inserts. Other enhancements includea redesigned steering wheel, alloy pedals, Head-Up Display with unique performance readouts and the “four-pack” auxiliary gauge system featuring a boost readout.
